Yesterday, we held an EHMA France & Monaco reunion at the Metropole Hotel in Monaco, a Leading Hotel of the World®, hosted by its General Manager, Serge Ethuin Hotel Manager Jean-Marc Ayme and the F&B Team under the culinary leadership of 2-star Michelin Chef Christophe Cussac.
For this autumn get-together 20 General Managers gathered in Monaco, with as Guest Speaker the President of the Group Palm Beach Cannes, Philippe Parodi who made a very interesting presentation on this iconic landmark that is the Palm Beach : where they come from, where they are today and where they are heading tomorrow. Opened since 1928, the Cannes Palm Beach has a rich history as a Casino, Entertainment and Gastronomy destination on the Cannes Croisette. Celebrities of various eras, noticeably during the pre-war period but also during the fifties to the eighties made the location an “inescapable” on the French Riviera! The 1963 film “Mélodie en sous-sol” with Jean Gabin and Alain Delon and the infamous scene by the pool at the end of the movie is reminiscent of this golden era. Fallen into disrepair, closed for many years, it reopened in the late nineties. The complex however needed a complete overhaul until new ownership came and carried a 250M€ renovation. Reopening just in time for the 2024 Film Festival the Palm Beach is now back in his original splendor with an array of food & beverage facilities, world class event spaces, night club, beach , private pool, a member’s club, luxury shopping and more…a Cannes Legend reinvented.
Next Rendez-vous during ILTM, on Monday the 2nd of December, between 6:00 and 8:00pm, at Hotel Martinez, inscriptions at : secretariat.ehma@gmail.com
