General Assembly - Friday afternoon 13 March

Gianni Buonsante drawing on over thirty years’ experience in technology and hospitality innovation and certification in both innovation management and AI, will explore how luxury hospitality can balance enhanced communication and operational intelligence with privacy, security and full compliance with the European AI Act, advocating a responsible, human-centred approach to digital transformation. His passion for the digital world began around 1986 at the age of 14, programming on a Commodore C64 and teaching adults to code — an early curiosity that shaped his career. He contributed to UNIX-based hospitality solutions before founding his first software house in 1995 and, in 2000, Ingenia Direct, delivering communication strategies, advanced websites and digital projects across Italy, Kenya, Uganda and the UK. A UNI 11814:2021 Certified Innovation Manager and MIT Certified in No-Code AI & Machine Learning, Gianni guides companies through digital transformation by uniting technical, strategic and creative expertise. He is focused on enhancing the guest journey from booking through to stay. For him, brand strategy lies at the intersection of creativity and technology — an approach that drives human-centred, meaningful value.

Millar has been a senior lecturer of hospitality information technology at EHL since 2021. Coming from a hospitality family, Millar has spent his entire life in the hospitality industry, originally from the UK he has lived and worked in the UK, Belgium, Thailand, France and now Switzerland. He is a designated CHTP (Certified Hospitality Technology Professional). Millar is also a Student Business Project (SBP) coach for the final year bachelor students on top of his teaching. A mentor to many hospitality technology start-ups he works to enhance technology usage in the hospitality industry. He is also a technology advisor to many industry conferences. Finally, he received the prestigious HFTP Paragon Award for 2020 for lifetime services to hospitality technology and education.

Brenda Collin serves as Executive Vice President Europe for Preferred Travel Group, the family-owned company that manages and operates global travel and hospitality brands including Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Beyond Green, Historic Hotels of America, Historic Hotels Worldwide, PTG Consulting, and Beyond Green Travel, leading the company’s growth and evolution across Europe, and ensuring the success of over 240 member properties across 25 countries in the region. Since joining Preferred in 2013 Collin has been instrumental in generating significant awareness of the Preferred brand. Brenda is also now focused on growing the Beyond Green brand to help hoteliers become more sustainable. She is a trustee of the Institute of Hospitality and an ambassador for Hospitality Action, a UK based charity for hospitality professionals.
