Dominique Nicolas Godat, General Manager Hotel Metropol Moscow, is this year’s winner of the prestigious award “European Hotel Manager”, that EHMA – European Hotel Managers Association – annually confers to a member who has achieved results of excellence in hotel management during the preceding year and all over his/her career. The prize was granted to Dominique Nicolas Godat for his great international experience in managing very complex properties in a number of competitive and difficult markets. Congratulations!
Dominique will be awarded next year in Lugano during the Gala Dinner of EHMA annual General Meeting, on 20 March 2021.

The "New Year’s Meeting" of Central Europe Delegation took place at Radisson Blu Style Hotel Vienna from 31st January to 2nd February 2020.
The Welcome Dinner was offered on invitation by Verena & Christian at their private home, where the members enjoyed a traditional Austrian 4-course "Wine & Dine" menu.
On Saturday morning the chapter held the meeting at the Radisson Blu Style Hotel Vienna. The main topic was related to EHMA 2022 in Warsaw, where Pawel Lewtak gave a short presentation.
The Weekend closed with the visit of the Ice Revue "Holiday on Ice" on Saturday evening.
The EHMA Management Council met in Crete from 25-27 October at the Daios Cove Luxury Resort & Villas kindly hosted by Vice President and National Delegate Greece & Cyprus Panos Almyrantis.
On Friday evening the welcome dinner at the Beach House was a real exquisite treat.
During the business session on Saturday morning, the Councillors discussed many important issues: 47th AGM Ehma Lugano 2020; Future General Meetings; Future & Projects of the Association; Treasurer; Membership; European Hotel Manager of the Year Award; Hotel Schools and others.
In the morning the accompanying persons could enjoy a beautiful boat trip to Spinalonga island! After the meeting all participants could taste a very nice lunch at the Greek Restaurant Taverna. On Saturday evening the closing dinner at the Ocean Restaurant was really delicious!
The next Management Council meeting will be held in Lugano at the Hotel Splendide Royal on the occasion of the 47th annual General Meeting which will take place from 20 to 22 March.
The autumn meeting of the Italian delegation took place from 8 to 10 November in Varenna , a small village located in beautiful Lake Como. The Hotel Royal Victoria and Hotel Villa Cipressi of RCollection Hotels hosted the event. During the business session on Saturday morning, the internal agenda of the members was discussed. The Innovations Committee presented the progress report of the 3rd edition of the "Mentor Me" program which foresees the presence of a Mentor, an experienced EHMA member, who interacts with a "Mentee" - a person with less experience – to help him improve his career. The recent collaboration with Luiss Business School of Rome and related new "Program for Executives in International Hotel Management" starting in February 2020 was presented by Prof Matteo Caroli. International expert on urban strategies Giacomo Biraghi closed the morning session hypnotizing participants with a visionary speech on: "Future Urban Trends. A selection of 10 urban trends emerging around the world”. Saturday morning the accompanying persons visited Piona Abbey while on Saturday afternoon all participants enjoyed the historical Botanical Garden of Villa Cipressi. On the occasion of the gala evening at Hotel Royal Victoria, the winner of the "Italian Hotel Manager of the Year 2019" was announced in the person of Giacomo Guzzardi, General Manager of Le Méridien Visconti Rome and Palazzo Scanderbeg.
