The northernmost German island of SYLT was chosen for the 2016 autumn meeting. EHMA-friend Rolf Brönnimann, Hotelier of the Year 2015, hosted the German Delegation in his elegant Golf and Spa Resort ‘Budersand’ and made it a memorable meeting of turn-around decisions for the chapter. The island of SYLT has been the most fashionable and prominent island resort of Germany for over half a century and is (holiday-) home of numerous celebrities – yet known by only few abroad. Only recently it gained increased international reputation through some great individual hotels like the ‘Budersand’. An entertaining and relaxing social program crowned the success of this weekend meeting having referent power for more to come.
In order to attract more outstanding hoteliers and increase the number of younger hotel managers an Executive Team will assist the new National Delegate and his/her Deputy (Oliver Staas, Radisson Blu Hamburg). Taking charge of the Treasury is Peter Messner (Steigenberger Hotel Sonnenhof, Bad Wörishofen), of Media and Relations to Professional Institutions Stefan Athmann (Area GM Regent Hotels Berlin and Montenegro), of Acquisition and Member’s Relations Georg Plesser Rocco Forte Hotel Villa Kennedy, Frankfurt), of Meetings and Events Wolfgang Greiner (Mandarin Oriental Hotel Munich). Peter Bierwirth, EHMA member since 1990, longstanding ND and Past President will hand over to his successor who will be nominated and elected at the end of this year.
