The first European Hotel Manager of the Year Award went to Dagmar Woodward, General Manager of the Inter-Continental Castiglione in Paris. Dagmar Woodward could have followed her parents wishes and join them in the restaurant business as a chef. But she didnt want that life. She thought about modeling or acting, but in the end, it was the strong pull of the hotel industry that won. Born in Germany, Dagmar Woodward spent 25 years in the hotel industry, many of these as a general manager at properties in New York, London, Frankfurt and now Paris, where she runs the Hotel Inter-Continental. Her 445-room newly renovated jewel enjoys 80% occupancy. Before Paris, she was the GM of the May Fair Inter-Continental in London, the GM at The Portman in London, and before that the Resident Manager at the Inter-Continental Hotel in New York. She is fluent in three languages: German, English and French. She is also the chairperson of the Inter-Continental Worldwide Environmental Committee. Congratulation Dagmar!
